Co-Intelligence: Living and Working with AI

by Ethan Mollick

Nonfiction | 5⭐️ | 4/2/2024 | Portfolio

In November of 2022, Open AI released ChatGPT, a consumer AI product. It hit mainstream with a bang. In his book, Mollick discusses the philosophical implications of integrating AI into society and culture. He also explores the social implications and economic impacts.

For reference, I work in healthcare information technology and AI tends to come up in my conversations almost daily. We use Microsoft’s Copilot to take meeting notes. We are exploring larger scale AI tools like chat bots, response technology and other tools to help our providers take care of our patients. This book is easy to understand and exceptionally accessible. It outlines guidelines for how to implement AI in your workplace, the benefits and the pitfalls. It discusses potential implications on jobs and what the future might look like. It provides a glimpse into what the future of AI might look like. I recommend this book for those in roles that utilize AI or with employers embracing it. The book provides some great insight.
